The next year (second quarter roughly) we'll release a new application for iOS and Android - it turned out that it's easier to write a new app than to fix all existing bugs. I'll announce the new app in this comunity.

I suspect that one of the reasons that LiveJournal is doing quite badly is a surfeit of good mobile apps for the service (and this is also one of the reasons I'm reluctant to move to Dreamwidth). So hooray for this!

I'm having a great deal of trouble parsing this. You do realize that "surfeit" means an excessive amount of something, right? You're saying there are too many good mobile apps for LJ, which, well, doesn't make a lot of sense to me in this context...

Sorry, another hole in my vocabulary plugged. :)

App for iPhone / Boosting Traffic?

The mobile app for iPhone has been out for a while and through a few upgrades. I thought having it available would boost my usage of LJ, but that hasn't been the case.

Here's to hoping the Android version gives LJ a traffic bump.

This is potentially good news, because I really don't like the current LJ app for Android. Then again, part of the problem is reading and writing longer posts on a phone, so I'm not sure there's a good solution. But I'm willing to try whatever they come up with!
