I have a new website, which is shiny and which I did with WordPress. It can be found over at chickensinenvelopes.net, and contains information about my Games Workshop addiction hobby, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and a partial list of the apps I have on my iPhone, with accompanying reviews/notes on why I downloaded them.

I think you should go have a look around!

Retirement

Today sees the retirement of a part of my website - the Random Stuff page. This is no longer accessible from the main site because it's essentially eleven recordings of me and my fourteen/fifteen year old mates being embarrassing. The page itself is still on the space, but now a direct link will be the only way to reach it. The segment about Starfox 2 has been moved to the front page as a result.

HTML versions of Procrastinations can now be found here.

I just found something I thought was lost forever - my first website. White Comic Sans on a starry background with frames! You can't get better site design than that!

Classics

For those who may be interested, I now have a gallery application on my website (how cool is that?!) and it currently contains this reworking of Sophocles' Oedipus Tyranus in Lego. It's a thirty slide PowerPoint saved as 640x480 JPEGs that I'm quite proud of, and I've been told it's quite funny. Just thought I'd post it for anyone wanting to check it out.

US IPs

You can use .htaccess to ban ranges of IP addresses. What range would I have to ban in order to exclude anyone from the USA accessing a part of my website?

Zines

My website now has its own zines section, which currently holds Procrastinations One, a placeholder for Procrastinations Three, and an all-new oneshot called The Classics Zine which talks about my stay in Greece. It's over here if anybody wants a look, and I will be making it shiny when I get back from the pub.

Homepage

My new homepage is now online. Whereas I tried to make a whizzy website with my last webspace, this hasn't got any delusions of grandeur - it's a hole, where I put things that LiveJournal wouldn't let me do (Java, mp3 files, et cetera). I'm unreasonably happy with it. It has all the stuff from the old site with rewritten text to make it sound better and some new Hitchhiker's Guide mp3s.

Well, my sore throat is pretty much gone, an odd twinge here and there but nothing much. My ulcer's also nearly gone and if it's not gone tomorrow it will be on Saturday, I reckon. My nose is letting me breathe through it again and my head is feeling fine. My cough has calmed down, I'm still hacking every now and then but it's definitely better than it was yesterday. All in all, I'm hopeful that I'll be relatively healthy by the time I see Jess [livejournal.com profile] xxjccjccxx.

Also, Josh [livejournal.com profile] 5m1ffy, you said you'd tell me how to get a free account on Heart Internet, so comment if you feel like telling me. :-)

Oh, did I mention I'm getting broadband next week? 2mb with no d/l limit, it's quite exciting really.

Can somebody have a look at the HTML on this page and tell me why the table at the top doesn't want to display the Arial at the right size? EDIT: I have a tag telling it to display Arial, Size 2, #FFFFFF, Bold, and it won't listen. Help's gratefully appreciated!

EDIT2: Got it, thanks [livejournal.com profile] hawkida!
